Your offer to UOW

Information for International coursework offer holders

Congratulations on your offer to UOW, one of the world's leading modern universities. Here you will find all the information and support you need to finalise the UOW admissions process and prepare for enrolment.

Next steps for UOW offer holders

Now that you have received a UOW offer, here’s what you need to do next.

It is important you read your letter of offer carefully

Your offer may come with conditions that you need to meet before you can accept your offer, such as finishing your current study, meeting the English language requirements for your course, or providing official copies of your academic documents.

You may also be required to submit a completed Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) Screening form including a Statement of Purpose. Read more about the GTE requirement here.

Your next step is to accept your offer. When we send your Offer of Admission letter, we will also include an Acceptance Agreement form. Please check that all of the details are correct, including the course information and start dates.

Once you accept your offer and receive confirmation from UOW, your next step is to submit the Fee Payable stated on your offer before a Confirmation of Enrolment (COE) will be issued. Your acceptance confirmation from UOW will outline the fee payment method.

Once fees are paid, an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE) will be emailed to you or your UOW representative. To apply for a student visa, you will need eCOE, a valid passport, and any other documentation required by the Australian Diplomatic Post.

Due to high demand and long processing times, we recommend you apply for a student visa as soon as possible.

All COE holders will be invited (via email) to enrol in their course around 2-3 months before the session start date. When you receive your enrolment invitation, be sure to follow instructions carefully. You will be able to complete enrolment online before your course commencement.

Offer Holder FAQs

Once all conditions have been cleared and you have paid the Fee Payable, a CoE will typically be issued within 10 working days.

Some applicants for an Australian student visa need to complete the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement to show they are coming to Australia temporarily to gain a quality education.

Completion of UOW's GTE assessment is a common offer condition that allows our Compliance team to pre-assesses an applicant's ability to meet the GTE requirement and obtain a visa. It involves completion of GTE screening questions and preparation of a Statement of Purpose (SOP). For a copy of UOW's GTE assessment form visit here.

Yes, a friend or relative onshore in Australia can pay fee on your behalf. To do so you will need to authorise them by completing the Third Party Authorisation form.

As an international student, it is a requirement of your student visa that you have student health cover for the duration of your study in Australia. Bupa is the University's chosen OSHC provider.  When students receive an offer to study at UOW, students have the option to allow UOW to organise OSHC (only if through our preferred provider Bupa).

If you do not wish to commence your course at the allocated start session, you can maintain your offer by deferring your start date. You can defer your offer to study at UOW for up to one year. You will have to complete a UOW Deferral request after you've received your offer from UOW. Once you submit your deferral request, we'll send you a new offer and information on how to enrol.

Not all of our postgraduate courses can be deferred, particularly those with limited places and high volumes of applications. The programs that are unable to be deferred include:

  • Postgraduate degrees in Psychology, Nutrition, or Exercise Science
  • Doctor of Medicine

Fees for your UOW course will be calculated at the time your offer is made. Any difference in fees incurred by your deferral will need to be paid prior to the issuing of a new CoE.
