Each school within the Faculty of the Arts, Social Science and Humanities has a Head of Students (Host) representative who provide students with advice and information on many aspects of the University Rules and Regulations for your degree within the Faculty.
The Head of Students have the responsibility for but are not necessarily limited to:
- Reviewing and monitoring the progress of all students within the Faculty;
- Running a system for counselling students, including students whose results and/or progress towards a degree are not satisfactory;
- Liaising as appropriate with the Student Ombudsman on matters relating to students;
- Mediating where differences arise between students and academic units.
The Head of Students can provide advice and permission for:
- Course transfers into the Faculty of the Arts, Social Science and Humanities
- Advanced Standing
- Cross-institutional study
- Enrolling in excess credit points in a session
- Applications for direct entry
- Taking leave of absence
- Problems with eligibility to graduate
- Advice on appealing a mark in a subject
- Serious academic consideration
- Grievances and appeals
