Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students

All initial teacher education students must pass the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students (LANTITE) before they can commence their final professional experience. This is a NSW Government mandated requirement.

When to take the Test

The School of Education recommends taking the Test:

Course Recommendation
Bachelor of Primary Education Spring Session in 1st year
Bachelor of Mathematics Education Spring Session in 1st year
Bachelor of Health and Physical Education Spring Session in 1st year
Bachelor of Science Education Spring Session in 1st year
Master of Teaching Spring Session in 1st year

Students should take the Test early to ensure it is completed well before their final professional experience.

Taking the Test

The Test runs during certain windows of time throughout the year.

Students must register to take the Test during one of these times.

Access Plans and Reasonable Adjustments

If you have a current Access Plan in place, please contact your Student Accessibility and Inclusion Team (SAIT) member to ensure your documentation is up to date and discuss how it might be best applied for LANTITE purposes.

Please note: Your application (together with supporting documentation) must be submitted by the registration closing date for the relevant test window. Have this ready before you register to enable it to be submitted in a timely manner. You must submit the reasonable adjustment documentation for each sitting of the test.
