50th Anniversary Brandmark
As we celebrate UOW's 50th anniversary in 2025, the brandmark serves as a symbol of our heritage, achievements, and future. This temporary, limited use logo has been created to align with our visual identity and provide a consistent method to acknowledge this important milestone in 2025.

There are two options to use the 50th brandmark;
- Replace the UOW logo with the 50th anniversary logo lockup.
- Use the 50th brandmark separately from the UOW logo when you need more flexibility with your layout. When the 50th brandmark is used in isolation, the UOW logo should also appear on creative.
Primary logo - 50th anniversary
The primary version of the logo seen below should be used at all times for all University communications unless severely restricted by space.
Secondary logo
The secondary logo should only be used when constrained by space, for example, an extreme horizontal banner ad.
Shorthand logos
The shorthand logo should only be used when constrained by space. Examples would include extreme vertical or horizontal banner ads and merchandise tags.
Brandmark
Use the 50th brandmark separately from the UOW logo when you need more flexibility with your layout. When the 50th brandmark is used in isolation, the UOW logo should also appear on creative.
Clearspace
To ensure the integrity and visibility of the logo, keep clear of other design elements using these clear space guidelines. Use the height of the ‘O’ as a measure of adequate clear space.
Minimum Size
Minimum size is be defined by the width of the crest, no matter which version of the UOW logo you are using. For print, the minimum size is 8.5mm and for screen, it is 40px.
All guidelines for the brandmark are consistent with the guidelines for the UOW logo.
Guidance
UOW staff members are encouraged to use the 50th anniversary brandmark in 2025, in the following contexts:
- Merchandise: Apparel, stationery, and promotional items related to the anniversary.
- Marketing materials: Printed materials, email communications, and digital communications promoting events and initiatives throughout 2025.
- Event signage: Banners, posters, and directional signs for anniversary events.
- University publications: Inclusion in newsletters, guides, and other publications that highlight UOW’s history and achievements.
- Internal events
- UOW 50th activations by Pulse
To maintain the integrity of our brand, please refrain from using the 50th anniversary brandmark in the following contexts:
- Non-University events: Do not use the brandmark for events that are not official UOW events.
- Commercial endeavours: Third parties should not use the anniversary brandmark.
- Alterations: Do not alter the brandmark in any way, including resizing, color changes, or adding elements that do not conform to the established design.
Restrictions
- Avoid combining the 50th logo with sub-brands or other lock-ups – the 50th anniversary brandmark directly relates to the institution as a whole.
- Avoid using the brandmark on long-term items.
