Taylor & Francis publishers award: outstanding reference/monograph in the science and medical category published in 2019, awarded to “Spatial-Temporal Statistics with R” by Christopher K Wikle, Andrew Zammit-Mangion, and Noel Cressie
Congratulations to Christopher K Wikle, Andrew Zammit-Mangion and Noel Cressie, whose book, “Spatio-Temporal Statistics with R” has won the 2019 Taylor & Francis Publishers Award for Outstanding Reference/Monograph in the Science and Medical category. The book provides an accessible introduction to the statistical analysis of spatio-temporal data, with hands-on applications of the statistical methods using R Labs found at the end of each chapter. It gives a step-by-step approach to analysing spatio-temporal data, starting with visualization, then statistical modelling, with an emphasis on hierarchical statistical models and basis-function expansions, and finishing with model evaluation. Detailed applications of the statistical methodology, Labs, and "R Tips" are found throughout the book. Published in 2019 by Chapman & Hall/CRC Press, Boca Raton, FL, it can be downloaded for free from https://spacetimewithr.org.
