PhD opportunity – Numerical Investigation on Casting of Liquid Products in the Electric Smelting Furnace

An opportunity is available for a PhD candidate to undertake a research project on a low emission ironmaking technology – the Electric Smelting Furnace (ESF), in collaboration with BlueScope Steel at the University of Wollongong (UOW).

Elevate: Boosting women in STEM

Applications are open for the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering's Elevate: Boosting women in STEM scholarships for students commencing in 2025. Elevate scholarships are provided to women and non-binary people studying undergraduate STEM degrees, postgraduate STEM research degrees, and women and non-binary people looking to upskill in leadership by undertaking a Masters in STEM or degree to improve business acumen.

University Postgraduate Award - Functional and structural dissection of the human replisome

  • A $9000 internship stipend for 3 months.
  • An $1000 support grant to the research group and $10,000 in value for the wider program including leadership, entrepreneurship training and networking events.
  • An internship stipend of $18,000 will be paid for those undertaking a 6-month internship. PhD stipends are paused during the internship period.
